 The formation of the Interquip Group of companies began in the United States in January 1970 with the founding of Comtec Economation Incorporated. The initial focus of this company was to design and manufacture equipment used in the production of quartz crystal devices. This initial focus rapidly expanded to include the development of manufacturing processes to improve productivity at all stages of the production process for these devices.
Interquip Limited (HK) was formed in 1978 to carry out trade with China which allowed Comtec Economation to expand its activities by utilizing the rapidly expanding, technically trained labor force of Hong Kong to support the design and development of certain new types of equipment targeted to the world market. In 1990, it was decided to move all operations from the United States to one central location in Hong Kong. In 2000, it was decided to restructure the business again to focus exclusively on the design and manufacture of frequency control products. The manufacture and sale of quartz electronic components to be carried out by Interquip Electronics Co., Limited, which was founded in September 2002.
 Interquip Electronics has invested heavily in the development of new piezoelectric products and manufacturing processes. It’s Product and Process Design and Development Department, which is managed and staffed with experienced and qualified engineers and scientists, is charged with the research and development of new quartz products and the manufacturing processes that are required to produce them efficiently at low cost.
Interquip Electronics manufacturers more than 20 million quartz crystal devices per month in its three ISO certified facilities in China. The facilities contain the most advanced production equipments and clean room facilities.
The product line of Interquip Electronics includes SMD quartz crystal resonators in both seam welded and Interquip Electronics’ patented All Quartz enclosure. The size of the All Quartz resonators range from the 10x4.5mm footprint down to the 2.5x2.0mm size. The fundamental frequencies available in this SMD enclosure start as low as 3.2MHz and range as high as 50MHz. Quartz crystal resonators in leaded, metal enclosures in both standard and moderately high precision are also manufactured. Other products include both leaded DIP and SMD clock oscillators, temperature compensated crystal oscillators (TCXO), voltage controlled crystal oscillators (VCXO) and oven controlled crystal oscillators (OCXO).
